Thankful

Well with Thanksgiving right around the corner (tomorrow) I thought it is time to wright about all the things I am thankful for.....
First off I am thankful to be living. (always a good one)
I am Thankful for friends (not sure how i have managed to not piss them all off)
I am Thankful for family (well only at Thanksgiving really, any other time they usually get on my nerves pretty bad)
I am Thankful to have a job (although you can draw unemployment for 90 weeks - no wonder the government is in debt)
I am Thankful to have a house ( just wish someone would come clean it for me)
I am Thankful for Kyle (except when he throws his clothes on the floor because he doesnt want to hang them up and get wrinkled... hmmmmm wise one he is)
I am Thankful for my dog Debbie (although I wish she was thankful for the hundreds of dollars spent on toys and fun clothes , instead she runs away and hides or destroys them)
I am Thankful for this blogging thing, I get to stalk people :)

(hope this makes someone laugh, that is the point)

Christmas Trees :)

I have expressed my love for the Holidays plenty of times already.. well I also have a love for anything crafty, now I am not a good crafter, but I like to "do things myself".... So this year i re-did my tree... last year it was Red and Gold and all this shiny.. this year i went with a theme that matched my house more and did gold, bronze and a powder blue... weird I know and no not very Christmasy... but I think it turned out ok :) I also did a red and white tree for our upstairs "man cave"... now I need more white ornaments on it, but it was kinda a last minute project :) Let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions I would love to hear them all :) HAPPY HOLIDAYS

My Favorite Time of Year!

WOOO Freaking WHOOO!! It is by far my favorite time of year! I love the leaves changing, having to wear sweaters and fuzzy socks, drinking hot chocolate, Christmas lights, and Carmel Brulee from Starbucks! Kyle calls me Kamalouwhoo.... yes yes I reek of Christmas spirit and I love it! Thanksgiving is like the teaser for Christmas, I mean dont get me wrong I enjoy Thanksgiving (mostly for the food) but there is something about the Christmas season that just makes me a happy camper :) I have already put 2 Christmas trees up, now before you fall over, I have not turned them on yet.. Kyle wont let me... But they are up and prepared for next week :) This year I went a little non-traditional with my downstairs tree... I had this thought of a gold, bronze and powder blue... well i went a little crazy -- It is almost a little too mismatched, and not really Christmasy, but thats ok I think I will keep it up this year and maybe go more traditional next year. Now the upstairs tree is very traditional (mostly because I already had most of the stuff) I got new candy cane stripped netting and white ornaments. It actually looks pretty good... This week I will try to take pictures and post them, speaking of pictures I am on the hunt for a new camera! So leave me a comment if you have a camera you swear by :)

Happy Holidays :)

Halloween

We had an amazing 1st Halloween handing out candy. Kyle and I originally got dressed up and then we realized that we were the only people in the neighborhood dressed up.. :( so we took our costumes off and prepared for the madness with a glass of wine. (ended up being almost 2 bottles)... Not to disappoint though we did let Lil Debbie wear her costume for a whole 4 1/2 minutes. I think she hates being dressed up :(

So we ended up having probably 150 kids maybe more come by, which was PLENTY! We had the great idea to put in black lights in our outside lights! Well "great" was quickly replaced with "horrible" when we realized that the lights weren't lighting up very well and we were afraid that people would think our porch light was off and not come see us! PANIC! I ran through the house turning on every light (and when i say ran i literally ran). We have plantation blinds in our home so I immediately opened them and the light shined on! (sweet silence)... well that wasn't good enough for Kyle he thought that people would still think we weren't home! Now how many of you would think we weren't home if you saw the following:

Entryway light through the door
Pumpkins lit up on the porch
More pumpkins with changing lights on the walkway
4 different windows open with all the lights on
2 crazy people with their wine glasses walking out to the street, turning around and giving the thumbs up!

I mean really?? So what do I do as a good wife? You guessed it, ran to the garage, as Kyle is yelling "ALL CLEAR HURRY HURRY", grabbed the HUGE ladder, set it up on our porch, climbed to the tip top of the ladder and grabbed the black bulb.... now those of us who "lived" for black lights and glow in the dark stars on our ceilings have probably just realized the crucial mistake I made! Black lights get so much hotter than regular light bulbs, although a regular light bulb would have probably burnt my skin as well... yes I now have 3 fingers with that dry cracked feeling on the tips, like i have dipped my finger tips in super glue! Oh but that isn't the end of it because me being in full on "panic" mode I had already started unscrewing the bulb when I realized it was quickly dissolving my fingertips... I yell for Kyle to grab me a towel - yes a TOWEL - Oh no not my lover bear, he comes back with 1 I repeat ONE paper towel. So I grab the paper towel and advise him in a calm voice that my fingers are on fire and one paper towel is a joke. So while I am standing on this huge ladder, fingertips slowing burning off, we get tricker treaters.... Kyle, oh so big hearted Kyle, decided that giving the cute kidos candy instead of getting his loving wife a towel... UGH! So after removing the black lights and putting back in our normal lights we preceded to get lots of trick or treaters and it ended up being a great time. I also am getting feeling back in my fingers, which is kinda nice :) I hope everyone had a great Halloween. I will leave you now with a picture of our little Bus, see Kyle and I were suppose to dress up as hippies and Debbie was our "magic" bus. Well you can tell she just hated her costume...
